THIEVES is a blend, which means it is an oil that Young Living created made up of other single (one plant source) oils and named for a purpose. The purpose of Thieves is to boost immunity, but it does other things as well. Thieves was named after the thieves that robbed the dead bodies of those that died during the plague..they put these herbs on their clothes to protect them from getting sick while robbing the bodies. Morbid I know.
I would say this is the most popular YL oil and my favorite oil! I always say this is the oil that has kept my family healthy and out of the doctors. My kids are rarely sick more than one or two days, and we have only been to one sick doctor visit since we started using this almost three years ago…and we have 7 people in our house! Ok so here is what I do. I keep a roller bottle of thieves and coconut oil. I swipe on everyone’s wrists often. I try to do it before they leave for school, but I don’t always remember. I do listen for every sneeze and sniffle or if I know they’ve been around or will be around sick people. Now if someone is clearly coming down with something I’ll hit it hard. I’ll ditch the roller because it may be too diluted. I’ll put 2-3 drops in my hand with some carrier and rub on their feet and maybe throw some socks on. I’ll repeat every hour for a few hours then maybe every two hours. Sometimes I’ll add Oregano oil.
I also use it diluted on teething babies, toothaches, and canker sores. I’ve had people use neat on a cold sore. Painful, but works! I know someone that puts it on the roof of their mouth for headaches.
It smells amazing!!! It’s also used in an entire line of cleaning supplies that Young Living makes and you should get them!! I mean chemical free cleaning that works better than regular and smells amazing…yes please! They also make a toothpaste with it. My teeth feel so clean and stronger.
Thieves is great in the diffuser too. Kills 99% of germs in the air! Did you get the app I suggested? It has a ton more uses as well, along with the uses in the graphic below.
